Arriving in Port Zante, Basseterre, St.Kitts
The St.Kitts Water Sports Parasailing experience is truly unique. As you get off the cruise ship and arrive at Port Zante, you’ll find colorful shops full of souvenirs, Jewelry stores, the center bar, and a food court. Taxis are easily accessible to get and you will usually be approached by many. The short 12-minute taxi ride from Basseterre to Carambola Beach Club is a beautiful drive with great views of the island. The taxi ride will cost $4usd a person each way. Be sure to stop off at the top of Timothy hill to get that famous picturesque view of the South East Penisula.
Arriving at Carambola Beach Club
When you arrive at Carambola, walk through the restaurant down to the beach. You will see our new Orange 31 ft parasailing boat on the dock. Make you’re way down to the dock and you will be greeted by one of St.Kitts Water Sports friendly staff members. We will then have you complete payment and sign our digital waiver form.
The Parasailing experience
Now is where the fun begins. As you board “Ride with Passion” we usually have some music playing, you will take your seat, start chatting with other flyers and then we will depart from the dock and begin cruising. We will then get you into your life vests and harnesses and give everyone a brief instruction.
After a short boat ride, we’ll inflate the parasail and then have one group of two or three people at a time come on to the back deck. We’ll hook you into the parasail, have you sit down, and get ready to fly. We often have guests bring ride alongs and this is a great opportunity for them to get some awesome photos. We will then begin to pick up speed and start to let out the rope and you will start flying. This is a thrilling experience as you start going higher, the boat gets smaller as you immerse yourself in the panoramic views of St.Kitts and Nevis. The actual flight is very smooth and quiet, your flying 600 ft high and enjoying life right now. We have many guests spot out turtles, and even see eagle rays jumping out of the water.
As we tow you back in, we dip people in the water about waist deep and then shoot them back up again. This is most peoples favorite part. We always ask if you would like us to do this before we hook you up to the parasail. As you come into land we’ll advise you to stand up and walk forward. We will then unhook you and you will take your seat and enjoy hanging on the boat with music and the company of other travelers.
Carambola Beach Club
Once all fliers have finished, we will take down the parasail, and head back to the dock at Carambola Beach Club. Carambola is a stunning beach with calm blue water, beach chairs, umbrellas, great food and tons of other water sports activities we offer like: Jet Ski rentals, Flyboarding, Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Snorkeling, Tubing, Scuba diving, Sailing and more. It’s a great place to spend the rest of the day.
Parasailing costs
The parasailing tour costs $110 USD a person for two people and $100 USD for 3 or more people. You can also have your friends who do not want to fly but would like to be a part of the boat experience for $25 a person. This is based on availability. We typically offer 2 tours a day. One departing Carambola at 12 pm and the other at 2 pm daily. The actual flight time is 8-10 minutes per flight. The total time of the tour is up to 90 minutes. This can change based on how many flyers we have for that tour. Parasailing is for people of all ages. We have had as young as a 5-year-old girl and as old an 87-year-old woman.
Is Parasailing SAFE?
Yes! Safety is our number one priority. We have all brand new equipment, we have been trained by the worlds best and most experienced training school. https://customchutes.com/training/ We also have the best conditions possible for parasailing. The wind blows offshore, so in any case, if the line was to break, you would gently come down into the water. You have a life vest to float in case you are not a strong swimmer. The wind keeps the chute up and behind you so there are no lines around you. We would immediately be by your side and assist you to get back on the boat. We have practiced this procedure and know exactly what to do.
